Intergenerational

Support and Resources

Sharing with other generations is a way of helping one another. Historically, every generation of partners and families of veterans have dealt with similar issues, such as:

  • Mental and physical health – how it impacts families
  • Communication difficulties
  • Relationship adjustments
  • Social isolation and lack of support from the veteran
  • As primary caregiver (and sometimes breadwinner) in the family, can lead to self-neglect, anxiety and depression
  • Intimacy issues
  • Domestic violence (physical and emotional) from male or female veterans

We are currently proactively lobbying towards policy change for partners health. All generations speaking with one voice will make it easier to achieve this goal.

BEING ADVOCATES provide information, understanding, guidance, and advice. They promote emotional, physical, and social health in a proactive, positive way.
